Ministry Of Public Works Speeds Up Nurtanio Bandung Flyover Work, Progress Reaches 65 Percent

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) is accelerating the completion of the Nurtanio Flyover in Bandung City, West Java.

The road infrastructure that is being built by the Ministry of Public Works will later be able to support the Jakarta "Bandung Fast Train (KCJB) Badminton and the Padalarang "Bandung Feeder Train.

Not only that, traffic in the Jalan Abdurrahman Saleh area, Garuda and Andir roads will run smoothly and eliminate potential delays due to level crossings.

As of early November 2025, the project's physical progress has reached 65 percent and is running on track with a target of completion by the end of 2025.

PU Minister Dody Hanggodo said that the construction of flyovers is an effort to reduce congestion due to railroad crossings and reduce the number of accidents that often occur in the area.

"Contactic connectivity is needed so that the mobility of goods, services and humans is more efficient," said Dody in a written statement, quoted on Thursday, November 13.

In the second week of November 2025, the work was focused on preparing for the casting of the bridge body and completing the administration 2 (A2).

A number of structural work is also being accelerated to ensure that the bridge span connection can be completed on schedule.

The flyover is designed to have a length of 550 meters to connect Dr. Abdulrachman Saleh Street with L.M.U. Nurtanio Street ( Garuda Street) and pass a railroad crossing in the Andir area, Bandung City.

So far, this area has become one of the main congestion points due to the meeting of vehicle flows from four directions at once, plus high train travel frequency.

When completed, the Nurtanio Flyover will increase the capacity of the existing road from four lanes to six lanes and eliminate the level crossing which has been the point of congestion.

Connectivity between regions will smoothly accelerate the mobility of goods, services and humans, as well as encourage regional economic growth.

From a technical point of view, the flyover was built with a bore pile structure and steel frame in the middle span to maintain strength while at the same time minimizing disturbances to the activity below.

Selain mengurangi kemacetan, keberadaan flyover itu diharapkan juga dapat meningkatkan keselamatan pengguna jalan dan menjadi simpul penting dalam jaringan transportasi perkotaan Bandung Utara.

"Sejalan dengan upaya pemerintah memperkuat konektivitas nasional berbasis transportasi terpadu," imbuhnya.

In addition to reducing congestion, the existence of the flyover is also expected to improve the safety of road users and become an important node in the urban transportation network of North Bandung.

"In line with the government's efforts to strengthen national connectivity based on integrated transportation," he added.
