Minister Of Transportation Dudy Hands Over School Buses For People's Schools In Yogyakarta

Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi symbolically handed over school bus assistance to the Ministry of Social Affairs to support the operations of the People's School in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY).

The handover was carried out at the Yogyakarta Center for Social Welfare Education and Training (BBPPKS), Thursday, November 6, and was witnessed directly by the Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf and the Governor of Yogyakarta Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X.

Dudy said that this year the Ministry of Transportation allocated 28 school buses for various regions, including two special units for Sleman Regency and Bantul Regency, DIY at this time.

"We have allocated two school buses specifically for Sleman Regency and Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. This is a real symbol of the government's commitment to continue to expand the reach of public transportation services that are of direct benefit to the community," Dudy said in an official statement, Thursday, November 6.

Dudy emphasized the importance of integration between social policies and transportation so that development benefits can be felt evenly.

"We want to make sure that no children are left behind due to distance constraints or limited transportation facilities. This synergy will accelerate the realization of inclusive and fair access to education," he said.

On this occasion, a joint agreement was also signed regarding the synergy of duties and functions in the social and transportation sector, between the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Social Affairs.

This signing is a concrete step in strengthening cross-sectoral collaboration to support the implementation of the Presidential Priority Program, especially in improving social welfare and equitable access to education for the community.

Dudy emphasized that the synergy between the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Social Affairs is a tangible manifestation of the government's collaboration in building an inclusive and social justice Indonesia.

"The Ministry of Transportation conducts real collaboration and synergy between ministries/agencies as a strategic step to ensure that government programs are right on target and have a direct impact on the community," said Dudy.

Through the agreement, the two ministries are committed to strengthening cooperation in eight main fields, including data and information exchange, support for the implementation of the People's School, increasing the competence of human resources, and synergy of social welfare and transportation programs.

Dudy said this collaboration ensures equitable development and social justice as a manifestation of equitable transportation, through the synergy of the education and transportation sector, one of which is the provision of school buses for public schools.

Sementara itu, Menteri Sosial Saifullah Yusuf menyampaikan kerja sama ini bukan sekadar penandatanganan dokumen administratif, melainkan wujud nyata dari semangat sinergi antar kementerian untuk memastikan pembangunan di bidang sosial dan transportasi berjalan beriringan.

“Kerja sama ini bukan sekadar menyambungkan tempat, tetapi menghubungkan manusia dengan harapan,” kata Yusuf.

Meanwhile, Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf conveyed that this cooperation was not just the signing of administrative documents, but a tangible manifestation of the spirit of synergy between ministries to ensure that development in the social sector and transportation went hand in hand.

"This cooperation is not just connecting places, but connecting people with hope," said Yusuf.
