JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) will conduct a ramp check or or a comprehensive safety inspection for the bus fleet simultaneously. This step is taken in order to ensure the safety aspects of traffic and road transportation ahead of the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year (Nataru) holidays.
Director General of Land Transportation, Aan Suhanan, said that this ramp check will be forwarded to Type A Terminals, bus pools, tourist locations to roads that are considered prone to accidents to tourist attractions.
"Officially, the Directorate General of Hubdat will ramp up the bus fleet simultaneously starting on November 7, 2025, which will be held at Type A Terminals, bus pools, tourist locations and accident-prone roads to tourist sites," he said in an official statement, Friday, October 31.
Even so, Aan hopes that each operator will independently check the bus fleet before it is used.
Furthermore, Aan also said that not only the condition of the vehicle that was checked but also the condition of the driver had to be in good health and prime condition because often the distance traveled was quite long.
"This is a preventive thing that we both do to improve road transportation safety," he said.
Aan said the Directorate General of Hubdat had also begun to monitor the ramp check of the bus fleet at the Museum Tourism Parking Location and Borobudur Art Village, Magelang, Central Java.
We have checked five buses at the borobudur tourist parking location today. Alhamdulillah, everything after checking has met technical requirements and is roadworthy," he said.
Aan said this step was continuously taken by the Directorate General of Hubdat as an effort to minimize the fatality rate of accidents that occurred on buses, especially tourism buses that brought tourists.

In terms of road transportation infrastructure, Aan checks the readiness of Tidar Magelang Type A Terminal in welcoming Nataru transportation.
"Tidar's term is one of the terminals whose system is good enough, only in the future we will further implement digitalization as a whole through the Terminal Online System (TOS) system," he said.
Not only good service, Aan said that his party wants the terminal to be a gateway to bring vehicles and passengers to an area.
"Digitalization is very important because it is related to manifest problems. In the future, we will try a more integrated digitalization system so that it can become a data center and can validate data quickly," he concluded.
