BEKASI - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo revealed that there is an interest of Saudi Arabian investors to invest in water resource projects.

Hal tersebut disampaikan Dody saat ditemui VOI usai menghadiri Puncak Acara Hari Habitat Dunia dan Hari Kota Dunia (HHD-HKD) 2025 di Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Tinggi Atas (SRMA) 13, Sentra Pangudi Luhur Bekasi, Jawa Barat, Senin, 27 Oktober.

"On average, water (sourced) projects, yes, dams are like that," said Dody.

Dody said that the Saudi Arabian investor would visit Indonesia directly. However, he did not know when the visit time would be carried out. "They will come here to check," he said.

Even so, Dody does not yet know how much investment value will be disbursed. The reason, he said, is that the Indonesian government is still in the process of offering to Saudi Arabian investors.

"(I don't know yet), I'm offering (the infrastructure projects)," he said.

Previously, Minister Dody said that his party would introduce a number of ready-to-go projects to potential partners and investors from Saudi Arabia, including KPBU Irrigation Komering (Sharia scheme) with an investment value of IDR 1.65 trillion, PLTM Leuwikeris (7.4 MW) worth IDR 256.9 billion, PLTA Tiga Dihaji (40 MW) worth IDR 920 billion and PLTM worth IDR 38.7 billion.

These projects are part of the strategic plan of the Ministry of Public Works 2025-2029 which focuses on six main missions. Including, water security, sustainable development and green financing.

Through the KPBU scheme, Indonesia also hopes to open new investment opportunities with institutions such as the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) and the Public Investment Fund (PIF).

Dody hopes that the bilateral meeting with the Government of Saudi Arabia on October 23 will be a new milestone in strengthening relations between the two countries while strengthening solidarity between members of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in the agenda of water security and sustainable development.

"The cooperation between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia is not only about infrastructure development, but also about building a sustainable future and bringing real benefits to the community," said Dody in an official statement, quoted on Saturday, October 18.
