Coordinating Minister Zulhas Pamer One Year Prabowo's Government: Food Swasembada Achieved

Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs (Menko Pangan) Zulkifli Hasan explained the performance of the food sector in the first year of President Prabowo Subianto's administration. One of the achievements is the achievement of the food self-sufficiency target.

Zulhas akrabnya bilang pencapaian tersebut dilihat dari jumlah pasokan beras mencapai 3,8 juta ton. Menurut dia, pada 2024 lalu, Indonesia melakukan impor beras sebanyak 4,52 juta ton. Kondisi tersebut, berbanding terbalik jika dibandingkan dengan saat ini, karena pemerintah tidak melakukan impor beras sama sekali.

Last year we imported 4.52 million. Now 2025, nothing, zero. Our stock is 3.8 million, so we are no longer imported. Therefore, the Minister of Agriculture has dared to say that until December we do not import rice, meaning that we are already self-sufficient in food," he said at the Town Hall Meeting for One Year at the Coordinating Ministry for Food, Jakarta, Tuesday, October 21.

Not only that, Zulhas also mentioned the economic growth target set by the government. He said many parties did not initially believe that the Indonesian economy could grow 6 percent.

People say, which is possible to grow 6 percent, which is maybe 7 percent, how can it be self-sufficiency, that's it. Moreover, the target is 4 years, only one year. Even though sometimes the Minister of Agriculture is so sick that he gets sick. There is no work on holidays," he said.

In addition to increasing production, Zulhas continued, farmers have now also prospered thanks to the increase in the price of Panen Dry Grain (GKP) from IDR 6,000 per kilogram (kg) to IDR 6,5000 per kg.

The price of unhulled rice is not below Rp6,500, even above. This means that farmers have more profits, that's only from price. Production increases, increases by 13 percent, surpluses by 4 million tons. Production increases by 4 million tons, so farmers add profits," he said.
