JAKARTA - Minister of Creative Economy (Menekraf) Teuku Riefky Harsya revealed the achievement of one year of his leadership which succeeded in making the creative economy a driver of new national economic growth.

He said that the strategy for mapping the potential of 17 creative sub-sectors in his ministry area has now exceeded the target of the Main Performance Indicator (IKU) prepared by the Red and White Cabinet, especially in terms of job creation.

"The philosophy of the Ministry of Creative Economy for 1 year, namely the creative economy, is a new engine for national economic growth starting from the regions. We see that the potential in the regions is very high, not only in big cities," said Teuku Riefky quoting Antara.

According to him, creative activists spread across various regions have many extraordinary talents and creativity that ultimately opens up quality job opportunities in each region and drives the local economy.

In the Red and White Cabinet, there are four Main Performance Indicators (IKU) from the Ministry of Creative Economy, namely donations to GDP, exports, job creation, and investment. According to Teuku, one of the IKUs has exceeded the target.

Some of the initiatives of the Ministry of Creative Economy program known as Asta Ekraf also contributed to IKU's achievement because it succeeded in creating cross-sectoral collaboration.

Teuku Riekfy said that his party always prioritizes collaboration in producing solutions for the development of the creative economy sector because it is one of the effective strategies involving many parties.

One example is the launch of the Creative Economy Hub, which was initiated by the Ministry of Creative Economy as a digital platform with a target of accelerating the growth of the creative industry to Rp1,532 trillion for the national GDP.

"We always answer the challenges in the creative industry through collaboration with all parties, including academics, the private sector, communities or associations, the media, and financial institutions. Due to the request for collaboration, the complexity is high, we accommodate new ideas or ideas by giving birth to what is called an Ekraf Hub so that everything can be connected to one," said Teuku Riefky.
