Minister Of Transportation Dudy Meets Governor Dedi, Discusses Greater Bandung LRT To Kertajati Airport

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi held a meeting with the Governor of West Java (Jabar) Dedi Mulyadi in Jakarta, Friday, October 3. During the meeting, a number of transportation issues in the West Java Region became the main discussion.

Several issues were discussed, including related to the plan to develop the Bandung Raya LRT on the east route, the provision of access roads to and from the Karawang Fast Train Station, including aspects of its supporters to the reactivation of a number of train lines in the West Java region, especially to tourist attractions.

In addition, there were also transportation issues in the air sector, one of which was related to the gradual transfer of scheduled commercial jet flights from Husein Sastranegara Airport to Kertajati International Airport.

Kertajati Airport has now been designated as an embarkation and debarkation of Hajj for pilgrims from the West Java region.

"Since July 2025, Husein Airport has returned to serve certain flight routes, such as the Bandung 'Yogyakarta route operated by Susi Air using a propeller aircraft," said Dudy in a written statement, Saturday, October 4.

Dudy said Kertajati International Airport remains focused on jet flights for domestic and foreign routes as well as strengthening connectivity for Umrah and Hajj transportation.

According to Dudy, his party is committed to continuing to support the development of public transportation in the West Java region, making it easier for people to move.

"We continue to support the West Java Provincial Government to develop a safe, safe, comfortable and accessible public transportation system in the West Java region. With the presence of public transportation more effectively and efficiently, we hope that the people of West Java can move and be served well," he said.

He hopes that the collaboration between the Ministry of Transportation and the West Java Provincial Government can continue to exist, in order to create a modern, integrated and sustainable transportation ecosystem in the West Java region.

"Hopefully in the future more people will use public transportation rather than private vehicles. This will be very helpful in reducing congestion on the highway," he explained.

Meanwhile, Governor Dedi appreciated the Ministry of Transportation for supporting the development of public transportation in the West Java region.

Dedi hopes that the cooperation can be felt by the entire community, especially those in the West Java area. "Thank you. Hopefully, West Java people can travel anywhere, on the way healthy and safe," he concluded.
