PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) as Pertamina Gas Subholding affirms its commitment to maintaining the reliability of the Bojonegara Gas Station infrastructure located in Cilegon, Banten.

This station is one of the vital infrastructures that is the link between transmission pipes from Sumatra and natural gas distribution networks on the island of Java.

Through this station, PGN distributes around 133 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) to various consumer sectors.

"With its strategic position, Bojonegara Station is the main gateway for the entry of natural gas supplies to the western part of Java. Then natural gas is distributed approximately 133 MMSCFD to various sectors in the Banten, Jakarta, to Karawang and surrounding areas," said PGN Director of Infrastructure and Technology Hery Cheapmanta, Tuesday, September 30.

He added that Bojonegara Station is connected to the South Sumatra (West Java) strategic transmission pipeline network and West Java distribution. The SSWJ network itself has been flowing natural gas since 2007 along 1,004 km consisting of 736 km of land transmission pipelines (onshore) and 268 km of submarine transmission pipelines (offshore) through 5 provinces and 13 districts/cities.

Bojonegara Station received natural gas from a supply source in Sumatra, then gas pressure settings were made according to the standards set by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to be channeled to the distribution network.

"After that, natural gas is distributed further for various purposes such as households, industry, commercial to electricity," he explained.

With a strict maintenance and supervision operating system, Hery said PGN ensures that natural gas can be distributed properly to customers through the Bojonegara Recipient Station in accordance with HSSE aspects. In addition to carrying out patrols throughout the pipeline regularly, PGN carries out system monitoring in real time.

"PGN has a team on standby 24/7 to ensure infrastructure remains safe and reliable," said Hery.
