Astra Infra Calls The Reduction Of Interest Rates Helps Light The Financing Burden Of Toll Projects

JAKARTA - Astra Infra, which is supported by PT Astra International Tbk (ASII), said that the reduction in interest rates helped ease the burden on toll road project funding.

The reason is, the company's financing structure is very dependent on debt, with a portion reaching 70 percent through bank loans and bonds, while the remaining 30 percent comes from equity.

Astra Infra's Group Chief Financial Officer Halim Wahjana said the lower interest rate trend would have a significant impact on interest costs, thereby easing the company's space to manage cash flow.

"If there was a fairly large interest expense, thank God this decrease in interest will certainly help," said Halim at the Astra Media Day 2025 event in Jakarta, Tuesday, September 23.

Even so, Halim emphasized, the main focus remains on maintaining the company's cash flow.

With healthy cash flow, Astra Infra can finance operations in a sustainable manner while having the capacity for expansion.

"Actually, if we want expansion, we have capacity. But also if we carry out an operation, we will be able to finance the operational costs," he concluded.
