Tembus Target, Pertamina Refinery Successfully Processed Crude Oil 159 Million Barrels Until Semester I-2025

JAKARTA - PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) has successfully processed 159 million barrels of crude until June 2025. This figure exceeds the target recorded in the Company's Work Plan and Budget (RKAP), which is 158.6 million barrels.

KPI's Corporate Secretary, Milla Suciyani said, in the first half of 2025, KPI managed to exceed a number of operational targets that had been set previously.

Of the crude oil processed, Milla continued, KPI managed to reach a yield value of around 84%. This achievement is above the set target.

"As part of national energy security, we realize our responsibility to produce fuel and non-fuel products that are the daily needs of the community. Therefore, optimizing refinery operations in accordance with the set targets reflects KPI's strategic contribution in maintaining national energy security. And of course, this is the fruit of the synergy of all parties, not only internal KPI but also the support of stakeholders," Milla said in a written statement, September 4.

To ensure that the refinery can run optimally, KPI continues to ensure the reliability of its refinery. According to Milla, KPI continues to focus on the management of refinery reliability so that it can operate optimally, especially on preventive measures.

In addition, KPI also continues to seek operations with increasingly efficient energy use. The KPI's Energy Intensity Index (EII) is at 105, lower than the target set in the RKAP, which is 107. This figure shows the efficiency of energy use in oil processing in refineries. The lower the value of EII, the more efficient the refinery is in consuming energy to produce fuel products and petrochemicals.

Milla added that this efficiency is also related to the decarbonization program run by KPI, especially in the processing process. This then has an effect on reducing the cumulative emissions of KPI until June 2025, where KPI has succeeded in reducing emissions up to 205 thousand tons of CO2 equivalent, higher than the previous target of 157 thousand tons of CO2 equivalent.

"The achievements of PAF and EII show that KPI is not only superior in production, but also reliable in refinery management. This figure also shows how solid and maintained KPI's refinery assets are, to support the Net Zero Emission (NZE) 2060 target or sooner," Milla added.

Milla hopes that this achievement will continue to be maintained and improved in the months ahead, so that KPI will continue to be at the forefront of maintaining national energy resilience. Of course, this is done without forgetting the commitment to continue to make a clean and sustainable energy transition.
