Target To Build 1 Million Jargas Connections, KESDM Asks Rp4.8 Tilion To Commission XII DPR RI

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has requested a budget of IDR 4.8 trillion to Commission XII of the DPR RI. This jumbo budget will be used to meet the target of 1 million household connections (SR) in the gas network program (jargas).

Secretary-General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Dadan Kusdiana said the budget for gas for the 2025-2026 period reached IDR 5.8 trillion, consisting of IDR 1 trillion this year and IDR 4.8 trillion in 2026.

"For household jargas, the target is 1 million households. Next year, the budget is IDR 4.8 trillion and this year IDR 1 trillion. So, the total is IDR 5.8 trillion and we will continue for 2027," said Dadan, Wednesday, September 3.

Nevertheless, Dadan said that jargas is a program with a multi-year contract contract contract that will only be completed in the next two years.

"For example, household jargas, our target is 115,264 SR, a budget of IDR 1 trillion. However, we have a new prognosis that can be completed for two years and this year (budget) is IDR 675 billion," he continued.

Dadan also proposed the remaining 2025 jargas budget of IDR 477 billion to enter the 2026 budget. Thus, the jargas budget for 2026 is estimated to reach the range of IDR 5.27 trillion.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, continued Dadan, will work on natural gas pipeline projects. For example, the Cirebon-Semarang transmission section is planned for expansion from Cirebon to Bandung, as well as Semarang to Solo and Yogyakarta.

Dadan said the Cirebon-Semarang Transmission Pipeline project is targeted for completion in early 2026. The Phase II project from Batang to East Kandang Haur was financed by the APBN worth IDR 258.56 billion.

"Then, continue the construction of the Dumai-Sei Mangkei Gas Pipe (Dusem), which is the 2025-2027 multi-year of IDR 2.1 trillion," he said.
