Deputy Minister Sudaryono Angry Fertilizer Frauds Rise On TikTok

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Wamentan) and President Commissioner of PT Pupuk Indonesia, Sudaryono, expressed their anger at the rampant practice of subsidized fertilizer fraud circulating on social media, especially on the TikTok platform.

Sudaryono said that many fraudulent accounts offered the fertilizer at low prices online, thus misleading farmers.

"I'm nervous! There are so many fake accounts on TikTok that offer cheap subsidy fertilizers, our farmers become victims," he said, quoted from the Instagram account @sudaru_sudaryono, Tuesday, September 2.

He reminded that subsidized fertilizers can only be obtained in official kiosks for farmers who are registered in the Group Needs Definitive Plan (RDKK).

Sudaryono also ordered the Directors of PT Pupuk Indonesia to actively report and oversee this fraud case so that there is a deterrent effect. "I ordered the directors of @pt.pukisindonesia to actively report and control! We made a deterrent effect, let them lose," he said.

Sudaryono reminded the public not to easily believe the offer of buying and selling subsidized fertilizers online, especially if asked to make direct transfers to private accounts.

"There is no story that subsidized fertilizer is sold cheaply online, let alone direct transfers to personal accounts. That's 100 percent Fraud! Don't be a victim," he warned.

This year, PT Pupuk Indonesia has prepared 9.55 million tons of subsidized fertilizer to support the realization of food self-sufficiency and has been distributed since January 1, 2025. The number of subsidized fertilizer quotas is more than the 2024 quota which reached 7.2 million tons.

"In 2025, we received a mandate to distribute 9.55 million tons of subsidized fertilizer consisting of 4.6 million tons of urea, 4.3 million tons of NPK and 500,000 tons of organic fertilizer," said Marketing Director of PT Pupuk Indonesia Tri Wahyudi Saleh some time ago.
