JAKARTA Lalamove, a leading on-demand delivery platform, held a peak appreciation for driver-preneur partners (mitra drivers who are also entrepreneurs) through Heroes Behind The Wheels (HBTW).
This program is a Lalamove initiative aimed at encouraging the spirit of entrepreneurship among driver-partners and strengthening their contribution to national economic growth.
The event took place at the MSME Gallery, South Tangerang and was attended by 50 selected driver partners who had participated in a business video competition with a total business capital incentive of hundreds of millions of rupiah.
The Heroes Behind the Wheels competition is part of Lalamove's commitment to supporting economic growth through a driver partner empowerment program that focuses on Safety, Entrepreneurship, and Industry Knowledge (SEI).
In this program, partners are invited to share business stories that they pursue and their business ideas in the form of videos, which are then curated by the Lalamove team and the final judging assessment by representatives of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs as well as the Co-Founder & CEO of Torch.
Managing Director of Lalamove Indonesia Andito B Prakoso said, Lalamove understands that most driver-partners cannot be fully tied to formal work.
"(This is) because it has other productive activities, including developing a business," he said in a written statement, Friday, August 29.
In the series of events, the finalists also participated in a mini talk show session with Ben Wirawan, Co-Founder & CEO of Torch, and Naufal Ridwansyah, driver partner Lalamove who has developed a broiler chicken farming business.
Ben Wirawan shared the story of how Torch was built from the start to being able to develop and compete in today's clothing industry, while Naufal shared the story, how Lalamove played a role in facilitating his business, both through networks obtained from users and business operational support from the income he earned.
This session is expected to share inspiration and provide practical insight into business development as well as motivation to realize their business ideas.
A total of five main winners were chosen from 50 finalists to receive business capital incentives with a total of hundreds of millions of rupiah.
In addition, participants received appreciation for their participation in programs aimed at strengthening their role as economic drivers and local entrepreneurs.
By optimizing the waiting time for drivers and vehicles, Lalamove has succeeded in building an efficient and affordable logistics ecosystem.
This not only presents more economical delivery solutions for business actors and consumers, but also creates flexible income opportunities for drivers who may not be included in formal workforce.
This double impact confirms Lalamove's commitment to empowering individuals as well as contributing to national economic growth.
Through Heroes Behind the Wheels, Lalamove reiterated its commitment to continue presenting sustainable empowerment programs, ranging from entrepreneurship training to real business capital support that can be implemented in real terms by driver partners.
