The Government Boosts Stimulus To Maintain Growth In The Third Quarter Of 2025

JAKARTA - Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Susiwijono Moegiarso said that the government is optimistic about the projected economic growth in the third quarter of this year.

"(Proyeksi Pertumbuhan Ekonomi kuartal III 2025), Ya kita sih kami optimism. Beberapa upaya sedang kita lakukan," ujarnya saat ditemui media, Kamis, 28 Agustus.

He added that although data and figures show a positive trend, there are many external factors that still need to be observed, such as global economic conditions.

"Once again, there are many factors outside of our control, like global, or not, that's why we're still waiting. Last night, for example, the Fed had started conveying it would lower," he explained.

Furthermore, Susiwijono emphasized that the Government is accelerating the implementation of economic stimulus programs to encourage economic growth because yesterday there was a delay in implementation.

"At least the third quarter, we are still optimistic. Only a few programs that we have to start the economic stimulus. Because yesterday it was a bit late (implementation)," he concluded.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the government would continue to provide economic stimulus to maintain people's purchasing power, especially ahead of the 2025 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) moments.

Airlangga conveyed that the stimulus to be given includes discounted transportation rates, plane tickets, trains, and toll roads.

"(Diskon) planes, toll roads, mostly trains," he told the media crew, Friday, July 25.

In order to welcome Christmas and New Year 2025, the government is also discussing a discount program which is expected to contribute to the national economy.

"The program will be Christmas New Year, we discussed the discounts yesterday, we hope that it can be announced earlier," he said.

However, he emphasized, the provision of discounted electricity rates is not included in the stimulus that will be given by the government for the second semester of 2025.

The plan is for the provision of this stimulus package to be announced no later than September 2025 and valid for two months, namely December 2025 to January 2026.

Sebagai informasi, pemerintah sebelumnya telah menggulirkan berbagai stimulus ekonomi pada periode Juni hingga Juli 2025, bertepatan dengan liburan sekolah, untuk mendorong konsumsi domestik dan menjaga daya beli masyarakat.

Adapun paket stimulus ekonomi selama Juni hingga Juli 2025 dengan total anggaran yang dialokasikan sebesar Rp24,44 triliun.

For information, the government has previously rolled out various economic stimuli in the period June to July 2025, coinciding with school holidays, to encourage domestic consumption and maintain people's purchasing power.
