This project is carried out through the Joint Operation (JO) scheme, where PTPP acts as a leader with a portion of 80 percent. The Batam PLTGU is located at the Kabil Industrial Estate, Batam with a capacity of 120 MW. The generator will use the 2nd configuration of Turbine Gas + 2 HRSG + 1 Steam Turbine based on international standard, more efficient, reliable, and environmentally friendly combined cycle technology.

PTPP's Corporate Secretary, Joko Raharjo, emphasized that this project is a strategic step for PTPP in strengthening its presence in the energy sector.

"With the track record of the construction of the Tanjung Uncang Batam PLTGU and the Cilegon KDL PLTGU, we are optimistic that the Batam PLTGU project can be completed on time, according to high quality standards, and supports efficient and environmentally friendly electricity needs," he said, in a written statement, Monday, August 25.

Joko added that the presence of the Batam PLTGU is expected to support industrial growth and economic competitiveness in the Batam and Riau Islands regions.
