PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) provides natural gas to meet the needs of the Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan) and the Indonesian National Army (TNI).

The cooperation between the Ministry of Defense and PGN was inaugurated through a Joint Agreement on Tuesday 19 August, as well as continuing the cooperation that has been well established since 2018.

PGN President Director Arief S. Handoko explained, PGN provides natural gas for cooking, drilling and so on at the Ministry of Defense facilities.

"PGN also ensures that the availability of natural gas in the Ministry of Defense facility units is distributed optimally and efficiently. The use of natural gas as efficient energy is in line with the government's efficiency program," he said in a statement to the media, Thursday, August 21.

According to him, PGN's natural gas service is part of PGN's steps to support important national defense institutions, with more efficient, practical and environmentally friendly energy.

"PGN ensures optimal quality of natural gas services for the Ministry of Defense and the TNI, through routine maintenance, pipeline rejuvenation, and other efforts to minimize operational disruptions," he continued.

PGN has served facilities belonging to the Ministry of Defense including Navy Mess, Army and TNI Headquarters with the distribution of natural gas distribution volumes of more than 10,000 M3 per month.

This service is spread in various regions, namely in Medan, Cirebon, Bogor, Jakarta and Tarakan City.

Meanwhile, support from the Ministry of Defense has also played an important role for PGN, one of which is in securing the distribution of existing natural gas and developing markets and infrastructure in the future. A sustainable synergy with the Ministry of Defense can increase strength for PGN in ensuring the reliability and availability of natural gas distribution for the community.

"We are optimistic that natural gas can be part of the asta solution for self-sufficiency in energy in Indonesia," concluded Arief.
