JAKARTA - The Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) officially signed a Cooperation Agreement for the Palm Oil Plantation Human Resources Education Program for the 2025 school year amounting to IDR 705.6 billion.

President Director of BPDP Eddy Abdurrachman said that the signing of the scholarship program cooperation agreement was carried out with 41 educational institutions from almost all islands in Indonesia.

"This cooperation funding support is provided for various levels of education, ranging from the D1, D2, D3, D4, to S1 programs with 71 study programs," he explained in Jakarta, Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

Eddy said that the agreed value of the cooperation reached Rp705.6 billion with a total of 4,000 scholarship recipients.

He conveyed that there were 4,000 scholarship recipients consisting of 490 D1 programs; D2 programs as many as 150 people; D3 programs as many as 1,440 people; D4 programs as many as 870 people; and S1 programs as many as 1,050 people.

Eddy said that this activity was part of the development program of palm oil plantation human resources in realizing a sustainable palm oil industry and increasing the productivity of oil palm plantations.

The development of palm oil plantation human resources is a major milestone in realizing sustainable palm oil. This is one of the programs that are the focus on BPDP's strategic plans in conjunction with other programs in integrating the development of the palm oil sector from upstream to downstream," he said.

Eddy added that the government through BPDP has contributed to the development of palm oil plantation human resources since 2016. Until now, the recipients of the scholarship program have reached 9,265 people.

"The realization of the distribution of funds for the development program of palm oil plantation human resources until 2025 has reached Rp938 billion," he explained.

In the process of selecting prospective recipients of the Sawit HR scholarship, BPDP collaborates with the Directorate General of Plantation of the Ministry of Agriculture. Some of the requirements for prospective recipients of the Palm Oil HR Scholarship are those from oil palm plantations; family of oil palm plantations; employees/workers in oil palm plantation businesses; family of employees/workers in oil palm plantation businesses; plantation institutional management in oil palm plantations; oil palm plantation association administrators; state civil servants (ASN) who work in the field of oil palm plantations and extension workers who work in oil palm plantation areas.

In addition, he conveyed that BPDP received a mandate in selecting candidates for the organization for the development of palm plantation human resources (LPP SDM PKS) and producing cooperation with institutions that organize the development of PKS human resources from almost all provinces of Indonesia.

BPDP has also prepared various human resource development programs for coconut and cocoa commodities in collaboration with the Directorate General of Plantation of the Ministry of Agriculture.
