JAKARTA The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) commemorates its first Anniversary (HUT) with the theme Complete Nutrition, Healthy and Strong Children, Developed Nations: A Year Going Towards Prosperous Communities.
Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana said the first year was the first step to ensure that every Indonesian child grew up healthy and competitive.
"This year is the beginning of our long journey to ensure that every Indonesian child grows healthy, strong, and competitive. Thank you for the hard work and commitment of all BGN employees and partners over the past year," Dadan said in a written statement, Monday, August 18.
He emphasized that the MBG program is not only a nutrition intervention, but also creates a multiplier effect for the economic, agricultural, and new jobs sectors.
"The MBG program does not only answer the nutritional needs of the community, but also encourages local economic growth through the involvement of farmers, fishermen, breeders, food MSME players, and distribution services. This strengthens the chain of sustainable national food supply as well as opens new jobs," said Dadan.
Since its official establishment on August 15, 2024, BGN has recorded important achievements through the Free Nutrition Food Program (MBG).
As of August 15, 2025, this program has formed 5,885 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) and serves 20.5 million beneficiaries throughout Indonesia.
This figure is projected to increase to 82.9 million beneficiaries by the end of 2025, according to President Prabowo Subianto's direction.
Previously, on the agenda of the MPR Annual Session, President Prabowo specifically gave his appreciation to BGN in his state speech.
"Thank you to the National Nutrition Agency. In front of this honorable assembly, I would like to express my highest appreciation to the Head of the Agency and all BGN members who have worked hard to achieve this proud result," said Prabowo.
This commemoration reaffirms the fulfillment of nutrition is a long-term investment for the progress of the nation. In the future, BGN is committed to strengthening cross-sectoral collaboration, encouraging program innovation, and ensuring complete access to nutrition for all Indonesian people.
