Celebrating RI's Anniversary, KAI Spreads Promos Only Pay 80 Percent Of Ticket Prices

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI presents an Merdeka Promo where you can simply pay 80 percent of the ticket price. This promo is here to welcome the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia (RI).

KAI Vice President Public Relations Anne Purba said that this promo was a form of appreciation for KAI loyal customers who wanted to celebrate the moment of independence in a fun way.

Anne also said that the promo applies to the ticket purchase period from August 12 to 17, 2025 through the Access by KAI application, the booking.kai.id website, and all official KAI ticket sales channels.

"This promo is for special departures on August 17, 2025," he said in an official statement, Monday, August 11.

Anne said the Merdeka Promo also applies to various commercial train trips in Java and Sumatra.

"So, do you want to explore culinary delights in Yogyakarta, have a relaxing coffee in Bandung, or just return to your beloved hometown, everyone can save more with this discount ticket," he explained.

Terms And Provisions

1. Purchases of discount rates can be made in all sales channels from August 12 to 17, 2025 for special departures on August 17, 2025.

2. The discount rate applies to commercial trains in Java and Sumatra.

3. The discount rate does not apply to Luxury trains, Suite Class Partition, Priority, Imperial, Panoramic, and/or other tourist trains.

4. Discounts do not apply at special rates and cannot be combined with reductions and/or other discounts.

5. Tickets with discount rates can be canceled and the schedule changed according to applicable regulations.

Anne said that even though the promo, flexibility is still provided. Tickets with the Merdeka Promo rate can still be canceled or rescheduled according to applicable regulations.

"So, you still have room for movement if suddenly plans change," he said.
