Percept Poverty Reduction, Kemenkop Encourages Data Collection Of Technology-Based Villages

Deputy Minister of Cooperatives (Wamenkop) Ferry Juliantono together with Deputy Head I of the Poverty Reduction Acceleration Agency (BP Tamkin) Nanik S Deyang and initiator of Precision Village Data (DDP) from IPB University, Prof. Sofyan Sjaf finalized a collaboration/cooperation plan to strengthen the use of village data as a basis for national development planning and poverty alleviation.

Ferry stated that poverty is one of the national problems that is now the focus of President Prabowo Subianto's government to be resolved.

"So that various strategic programs have been formulated, starting from the Red and White Villages/Sub-District Cooperatives (Kopdes/Kel), increasing access to health and education to creating jobs," he said, Wednesday, August 6.

He explained that the use of accurate databases is the main capital to ensure poverty alleviation programs can be right on target, especially in villages.

"We need a really accurate village database to use in making decisions," he continued.

According to him, currently there is one application that allows to take full pictures of village conditions, starting from the village potential, village demographics to the profile of the village community accurately. The application is in the form of Precision Village Data (DPP) developed with an integrated technology system with Artificial Intelligence (AI).

This application has been tested in various villages in Indonesia, one of which is in DIY.

The data generated from this application is considered appropriate to be taken into consideration by the government, especially BP Taskin, in formulating policies related to poverty alleviation.

Ferry menambahkan, pertemuan kali ini menjadi kelanjutan dari diskusi sebelumnya antara Kemenkop dan BP Taskin yang membahas pentingnya pembaruan metode pendataan desa.

Kemenkop ke depannya siap memperkuat kerja sama dengan BP Taskin untuk meningkatkan akurasi pendataan dengan melibatkan berbagai pihak.

“Kita ingin punya semangat yang sama untuk membangun data yang presisi karena kita sama-sama ingin mengurangi kemiskinan bahkan bisa menghilangkan," tandas Wamenkop.

Ferry added that this meeting was a continuation of the previous discussion between Kemenkop and BP Tamkin which discussed the importance of updating the village data collection method.

"We want to have the same spirit to build precise data because we both want to reduce poverty and can even eliminate," said the Deputy Minister of Cooperatives.
