BCA Boss Regarding PPATK Block Dormant Account: Good Too

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) Hendra Lembong responded to a statement from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) which would block passive or dormant accounts.

According to Hendra, his party positively welcomed the decision. According to him, this could be an opportunity to remind customers regarding the activeness of their accounts.

"I think this is quite good too. So we have the opportunity to remind customers that these accounts should be active," said Hendra at a press conference for the achievements of BCA Semester I-2025, Wednesday, July 30.

Hendra said, actually an inactive account for a long time does have a risk like other people use it without the knowledge of the account owner.

"Of course we at BCA follow the provisions of PPATK, where this blocking is requested by PPATK," he continued.

Hendra Lembong juga memastikan jika pihaknya juga akan membantu nasabah saat mengajukan pembukaan kembali rekening yang sudah diblokir oleh PPATK dan terus berkomunikasi dengan PPATK selaku lembaga yang berwenang.

"Yang kita lihat begitu nasabah kita juga minta kita untuk membuka blokir, kita mengikuti proses sesuai yang ada dengan PPATK, kita sampaikan ke PPATK, dan biasanya PPATK juga buka blokirnya," tandas Hendra.

Hendra Lembong also ensured that his party would also assist customers when submitting to reopening accounts that had been blocked by PPATK and continued to communicate with PPATK as the authorized institution.

"What we see as soon as our customers also ask us to unblock, we follow the existing process with PPATK, we convey it to PPATK, and usually PPATK also unblock it," said Hendra.
