Indomaret Boss Not Worried About The Presence Of 80,000 Red And White Kopdes

"Not at all (companied)," said Wiwiek when met at the Ansor GP Office, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 22.

Instead of feeling rivaled, Wiwiek assessed that the Kopdes Merah Putih program also opened up opportunities for collaboration between Indomaret and the government.

However, Wiwiek emphasized that until now there has been no plan to cooperate with the Red and White Kopdes. Even so, Wiwiek is optimistic that this program can provide direct benefits to the community.

"That's a government program, right. We are open to anyone and we must be selected in terms of business. We don't want cooperatives to lose until for example. But if our business is predicted to be good, then we will run," he explained.

Previously, it was reported that President Prabowo Subianto officially launched 80,081 Red and White Village Cooperatives (Kopdes). The inauguration ceremony was centered in Bentangan Village, Wonosari, Klaten Regency, Central Java.

"By saying Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this afternoon, Monday, July 21, 2025, I am the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto launching 80,000 village and sub-district cooperatives," Prabowo said as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Monday, July 21.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs (Menko Pangan) Zulkifli Hasan said the Red and White Kopdes, which are currently being formed, are here to eradicate tengkulak and moneylenders in the supply chain.

"The formation of the Village/Kelurahan Cooperative is not only a forum for production and distribution, but also for cutting the supply chain, eradicating tengkulak and moneylenders," he said.

The head of the Red and White Cooperative Task Force also believes that the presence of the Kopdes will empower farmers, fishermen and village economic actors in Indonesia by prioritizing the principles of mutual cooperation and kinship.

Zulhas, as he is familiarly called, also said that the formation of the Kopdes was part of the follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto's order to empower farmers to domestic fishermen.

"Mr. President has given us firm directions, we must not depend on food imports, we must be sovereign, we must be self-sufficient in food, water and energy, he has repeatedly conveyed," he said.

"And most importantly, we must empower our own farmers, be independent through a just and sustainable system," he continued.
