JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto bluntly said that the cooperative concept is usually used by weak people. Meanwhile, the rich often do not want to deal with cooperatives.

This was conveyed by Prabowo in front of ministers, regional heads, and businessmen at the launch of 80,000 Red and White Kopdes, in Bentangan Village, Wonosari, Klaten Regency, Central Java.

"So we understand that the cooperative concept is the concept of a weak person. The cooperative concept is a concept for those who are weak, who are strong, do not want to deal with cooperatives, who are strong, do not want to become members of cooperatives," Prabowo said as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Monday, July 21.

This statement is not without reason, Prabowo regrets that so far, rich people who have wide access actually choose to establish a company, Limited Company (PT) or other business entities.

Therefore, according to Prabowo, this reflects that cooperatives are considered a forum for those who are less empowered.

"If it's strong, already rich, already has access everywhere, what he made is PT. He made a holding, he made an incorporated, he made a limited liability company. He made a corporation and a bla. Cooperatives are tools for weak people," he said.

However, Prabowo's statement did not mean to be underestimated. He wanted to emphasize the extraordinary potential of the cooperative. In fact, he made an analogy of cooperatives like a piece of lydi.

The same as the concept of lidi. One lidi is weak, not strong. It means nothing in one sentence. But if tens of lidies, hundreds of lidies, are used as one. This is a tool that can help us. So, from weak, weak, weak to power. This is the cooperative concept from weak economy to strong economic power," he said.

According to Prabowo, the concept cooperative is also very closely related to the value of mutual cooperation, which is the identity of the Indonesian people.
