Minister Of Trade Lutfi: There Are 72 E-commerce Sites That Will Enliven BBI In 2021, There Is A Discount Of IDR 20,000 For Shipping

JAKARTA - Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi said that as many as 72 local markets or e-commerce are ready to support the 2021 Indonesia Made Shopping Day (BBI) Program launched by the Indonesian Government to boost domestic consumption.

"Jadj 72 e-commerce platform together with the government provides direct postage subsidies of up to IDR 20,000. On the main page there will be information on Indonesian goods to be given free shipping in order to spur economic growth," the Trade Minister said at a virtual press conference entitled "Development and Recovery Efforts. The Minister of Trade explained that the government and e-commerce players synergized in making BBI Day 2021 a success, where the local market facilitates free shipping to consumers and the government supports it by disseminating the program to the public.

According to Lutfi, transactions to be printed on BBI Day 2021 are projected to exceed IDR 11.5 trillion, which is the achievement of a similar program in 2020 which only lasts for two days.

"Given that the 2021 BBI Day will be held longer, namely 5-13 May 2021, the transaction is expected to exceed last year's achievements," concluded the Trade Minister.

It is known, the contribution of domestic consumption to national economic growth is very significant, reaching almost 60 percent of Indonesia's GDP (BPS data).

It includes the trade sector, and free postage is believed to help encourage an increase in the movement of the national economy, especially the trade sector.

With the Proud Movement Made in Indonesia and free shipping, the government hopes to optimize the movement of consumption which is utilized by national products while at the same time breaking the chain of the spread of COVID-19. So that domestic products can host in their own country.
