JAKARTA - Shopee Indonesia revealed more than 10 million local products were sold abroad through the Shopee Export Program during Semester 1 2025. Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore is the country with the largest number of exports in the Shopee Export Program.

Fashion products, home supplies, and sports needs are the most favorite categories in the Shopee Export Program in Semester 1 2025.

Cumulatively, since 2019 there have been more than 60 million local products exported to countries in East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Latin America exported through the Shopee Indonesia facility.

In the launch of the FLEXI Shopee Export Program in Jakarta, Tuesday, July 1, the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Budi Santoso stated that international trade access such as the Shopee Export Program is an important catalyst for the growth of the MSME business, as well as supporting Indonesia's trade balance to remain positive in the midst of fluctuating global economic situations.

"Now with advanced export technology, it is easier, like through Shopee, MSMEs can export directly. This is one way and ease for (local entrepreneurs) to export. We have also prepared support from the Government. We have trade representatives, there is the Indonesia Trade Promotion Center (ITPC), then there are 46 Trade Attaches in 33 countries that are ready to help MSMEs export. So MSME friends can export, through Shopee this is also one way, "explained Busan, the Minister of Trade's nickname.

He added that the Government cooperates with various parties to encourage growth in the value of national exports. Busan mentioned that this year the Government is targeting the value of Indonesia's exports to grow 7.1 percent on an annual basis reaching 294.45 billion US dollars.

"We want more MSMEs to be exported, including through the Shopee Export Program. I thank Shopee for facilitating our MSMEs not only for selling domestically, but also for penetrating the export market," said Busan.

Shopee Indonesia's Deputy Director of Government Relations, Balques Manisang said Shopee strives to continue to encourage more MSMEs and local brands to be exported. Most recently, Shopee introduced the Shopee FLEXI Export Program innovation which provides flexibility for sellers at Shopee to manage stores abroad in order to optimize the potential for sales.

"This program offers opportunities for business actors and MSMEs in Indonesia to be able to attract buyers' spending abroad, starting from Malaysia as our first debut in launching this FLEXI program. We hope that this program can always boost not only the capabilities and potential of the MSME business in Indonesia, but can also support the achievement of national export value in the future," explained Balques.

Balques emphasized that the Shopee Export Program is directed to strengthen the competitiveness of MSMEs in the international market. Through this program, MSME entrepreneurs can understand how to market, and how to adapt products to consumer tastes abroad.

This is an important provision so that our MSMEs can continue to be strong, creative, and ready to compete globally. The Shopee Export Program itself has been present since 2019 and has helped more than 50 million MSME products exported to various countries. In contrast to the Shopee FLEXI Export Program, the regular method currently running automatically converts products, prices, and languages in Shopee Indonesia to the currency and language in the destination country.

"Regular programs offer easy exports, while the FLEXI program offers freedom for sellers to set a sales strategy at overseas stores," Balques concluded.
