Appointed As HKTI Chair, Deputy Minister Sudaryono Affirms Pursuit Of Food Swasembada Targets

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono was officially appointed as General Chair of the Indonesian Farmers Harmony Association (HKTI) for the period 2025-2030 at the 10th National Conference in Jakarta, Wednesday, June 25.

Sudaryono said that this position is a big responsibility that further triggers his enthusiasm. He believes that the active role of HKTI under his leadership will be very helpful in carrying out his duties as deputy minister of agriculture, especially in achieving the food self-sufficiency target mandated by President Prabowo.

"With this HKTI activity, it can add convenience, smoothness, and accelerate everything that has been considered difficult so far," he said after the National Conference, quoted by Antara.

Furthermore, Sudaryono also conveyed the end of the dualism of leadership within HKTI. Through this 10th National Conference, the two HKTI camps have agreed to unite and unite themselves in one HKTI.

"There will be no more dualism after this, God willing," he said.

HKTI had experienced a split into two camps since the 7th National Conference in 2010. At that time, the organization was divided into two factions, namely the camp led by Prabowo Subianto and the Oesman Sapta Odang camp.

Even though the Supreme Court (MA) through its cassation decision appointed Prabowo as the General Chair of HKTI for the 2010-2015 period, Oesman Sapta Odang still claimed to be the leader of HKTI.

This division then continued with the next leadership, where Fadli Zon became Prabowo's successor to the Chairman of HKTI for the 2015-2020 and 2020-2025 periods, and Moeldoko became Oesman's successor.

Sudaryono also asked for support from all parties so that this unified HKTI can jointly support the smooth running of the self-sufficiency program and the goals of national food sovereignty.

He emphasized that the milestone in HKTI's unity is important for the realization of increased national production and the welfare of farmers.

"The goal is two: to increase national production and improve the welfare of farmers," concluded Sudaryono.
