Strengthen Connectivity At IKN, Hutama Karya Secures IDR 603 Billion KIPP Road Project

JAKARTA - The development of the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) in East Kalimantan continues to show progress to this day.

PT Hutama Karya (Persero) has again strengthened its commitment as the main contractor by winning a new contract worth IDR 603.8 billion.

This contract is for Package F of Road Improvement Works in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) 1B, a vital project that will strengthen connectivity in the heart of the new capital city.

The signing of this important contract took place at the IKN Authority office on Tuesday, June 11.

SVP General Civil Division Hutama Karya, Zainal Abidin signed a contract as Lead KSO with Commitment Making Officer XIII-2025 of the IKN Authority (OIKN) Almi Madhani.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim said the 2.54-kilometer road project is an integral part of the IKN transportation master plan.

The location is in Sepaku District, North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan Province.

This project will be worked on through Operational Cooperation (KSO) between Hutama Karya and PT PP (Persero) Tbk (KSO HK-PP), with a portion of Hutama Karya of 55 percent.

The construction of this project is targeted to be completed by the end of December 2025, showing the acceleration of development at KIPP.

The construction of the Package F road has two lanes with different constructions.

The first line (RW 36) will use a hard concrete structure covered with asphalt with a width of 12 meters per path.

Meanwhile, the second route (RW 54) uses flexible asphalt construction with a width of 8.5 meters per lane.

Strategicly, the construction of the Package F road will connect banking areas in the KIPP 1B area, which shows a focus on developing economic support infrastructure.

Adjib Al Hakim said that the main challenge that will be faced is hoarding 10-12 meters of land.

"To overcome this, we will use special technology to keep the piles stable and not landslides with the use of geotextile stabilizers," said Adjib in a written statement, Tuesday, June 17.

The use of this technology shows the company's commitment to the quality and safety of construction in challenging terrain.

This new project is projected to absorb hundreds of workers, in line with the government's Astacita 3 points program in creating jobs for the Indonesian people.

The work on the F Package Project also adds to the long list of Hutama Karya's involvement in IKN, completing 11 other projects.

These projects include the Office Building of the Coordinating Ministry 2; ASN Flats 2; IKN VVIP Airport Land Side Facilities; IKN Vertical Hospital; State Mosque Area; 1B Infrastructure Facilities; and 1 and 3 KIPP Waste Water Pipelines.

Then, the IKN Segment 3A Karangjoang 'KKT Kariangau Toll Road; Fender Jembatan Pulau Balang; Balang Island Bridge; and IKN Segment 5B Toll Road, Balang Island, Riko Intersection, most of which are in the process of completing construction.

"The presence of this road is expected to support the smooth running of economic activity and increase investment in the Nusantara Capital area, as well as strengthen the position of Hutama Karya as a trusted partner of the government in supporting the success of IKN development," he concluded.
