JAKARTA PT Hero Global Investment Tbk (HGII) appreciates the government's commitment through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) in realizing the transformation of the new renewable energy mix (EBT) to 61 percent or 42.6 gigawatts (GW) of the total additional 69.5 GW of electricity capacity in the Electric Power Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) for the 2025-2034 period.

HGII President Director Robin Sunyoto said that the 2025-2034 RUPTL that was ratified yesterday was not just a design for the development of electricity infrastructure, but a roadmap for Indonesia's energy future which is committed to driving an environmentally friendly energy transition.

"We see that the 2025 2034 RUPTL is a form of the government's commitment to increasing the green energy mix to realize the net zero emission target," he said in his statement, Tuesday, May 27.

In addition, he said that this RUPTL also provides considerable space for private investment in the development of electricity infrastructure in the country and his party is ready to accelerate the development of EBT and support the implementation of the 2025 2034 RUPTL.

In the latest RUPTL, the portion of EBT of 42.6 GW consists of solar energy of 17.1 GW, water 11.7 GW, wind 7.2 GW, geothermal (geothermal) 5.2 GW, bioenergy 0.9 GW, and nuclear 0.5 GW.

Meanwhile, the 2025-2034 RUPTL is the government's plan to provide electricity for the Indonesian people and serve as a guideline in the development of electricity infrastructure.

Robin emphasized that as a company that has managed mini-hydro power plants (PLTM) with a total capacity of 19 MW, HGII is ready to support the government in developing electricity infrastructure in Indonesia.

Robin said that in addition to the dominant portion of EBT, the 2025-2034 RUPTL also provided a fairly large portion to private parties or private electricity developers (IPP), namely IDR 1,566.1 trillion or 73 percent of the total investment of IDR 2,133.7 trillion, while PT PLN (Persero) IDR 567 trillion or 27 percent.

Therefore, Robin said that HGII is ready to support and collaborate with PLN in running the 2025-2034 RUPTL to utilize potential new renewable energy sources such as water, solar, biomass, and biogas to become electrical energy for the community and to support Indonesia's economic growth.

According to him, HGII has experience and portfolios in developing and managing EBT so that it is ready to contribute significantly to supporting the government's plan and PT PLN (Persero) in running the electricity roadmap, namely RUPTL 2025-2034.

Robin said that in addition to managing PLTM with a total capacity of 19 MW in North Sumatra, HGII also invests in minority ownership in Biogas Power Plants (PLTBg) with a capacity of 3 MW in Riau Province.

Based on RUPTL 2025 2034 data, Sumatra received a portion of 9.5 GW, the second largest in EBT development, after the areas of Java, Madura, and Bali.

The development of EBT plants in Sumatra for the 2025 period 2034 amounted to 9.5 GW dominated by water/hydro (PLTA and PLTM) 4.94 GW, 2.02 GW geothermal (PLTP), bioenergy (PLTBg and PLTBm) 60 MW, 250 MW nuclear power plant (PLTN), and solar (PLTS) 1.61 GW.

According to him, this is a great opportunity for HGII to continue to expand EBT plants in Sumatra, where in January 2025 HGII managed to raise IPO funds of IDR 260 billion to develop PLTA 25MW and PLTM 10 MW, both located in North Sumatra.

Robin emphasized that HGII is committed to continuing to invest and develop the green energy sector business in the country so that in the future it will manage the 100 MW EBT power plant in 2031.

He conveyed that HGII has several projects in the renewable energy pipeline that will be developed in the future, namely water (58 MW), biomass (8 MW), biogas (6 MW) and solar (10 MW).
