"I have made letters. My resignation starts on May 2. But for the Decree (Decision Letter) the certainty is of course by process from the TNI Headquarters (Mass Headquarters of the Indonesian National Army) and from the Army Chief of Staff," he told the media crew, Friday, May 23.

When asked whether his appointment as Director General of Customs and Excise had been given by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto before May 2, Djaka said that he was summoned by the Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) M Herindra and informed about the plan to place him in Customs by the President.
"Yes, basically I may have submitted it, I was summoned by the Head of BIN that there was a plan for Pak Prabowo to place me in Customs and Excise," he added.

Djaka Budhi Utama, who was appointed as Director General of Customs and Excise at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, had submitted his resignation from the active service of the TNI and underwent an early retirement process in accordance with applicable regulations.
"On May 5, 2025, the Decree of the TNI Commander number Kep/566/V/2025 dated May 5, 2025 concerning Dismissal from and Appointment in Positions within the TNI. Lt. Gen. Djaka Budi Utama has been transferred to Special Pati Headquarters," he said.
Kristomei said that on May 6, 2025, a proposal for a honorable dismissal on behalf of Lt. Gen. Djaka Budhi Utama, S.Sos., to the Presidential Military Secretariat for further administrative proceedings.
