JAKARTA - SEVP Information Technology of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI Victor Erico Korompis won the Best CIO of the Year award from the ASEAN Fintech Awards for its technological innovation which emphasized the success of BNI's digital transformation. This award was announced as part of the ASEAN Fintech Forum, a leading platform in Southeast Asia for financial technology leaders.

The CIO of the Year award won by Victor Korompis put BNI on par with other leading financial institutions in ASEAN who also won awards in various categories such as Maybank and CIMB Malaysia, Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation and East West Bank from the Philippines, Trust Bank in Singapore and various other influential figures in a number of regional banks.

The ASEAN Fintech Forum received nearly 116 submissions from the entire ASEAN mainly from banks, with several entries submitted by vendors on behalf of the banks. Initial selection was carried out by banking analysts and fintech focusing on unique initiatives. The submission was also validated and verified by judges most of the former bankers and regulators.
