JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN), part of Pertamina's Gas Subholding, continues to expand the household natural gas network through the GasKita Program to Rosinton Raya Housing in Batam City Batji District, Riau Islands.
PGN Batam Area Head Wendi Purwanto said that the installation of household connections went smoothly because of active support from the community.
"We thank you for the cooperation of the residents. The installation of the natural gas network went well without significant obstacles, and we are happy to be able to provide access to safer and more affordable energy," Wendi said in a statement in Batam, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, May 21.
Now, 171 household customer connections have been installed and can start enjoying the clean, safe and efficient benefits of natural gas energy.
The installation of natural gas networks is carried out in stages, not only at the Rosinton Raya Housing, but also covering other areas in Batam such as Cemara Asri Housing, Masyeba, Carina Park, Anugerah Park and Hang Tuah Housing.
PGN noted that the construction of the main pipeline network in the region has started since January 2025, and is targeted to cover around 4,000 new customer connections this year.
For next year, the expansion target will increase significantly to more than 16,000 subscribers, along with the wider distribution network available.
One of Br Hutasoit's new customers expressed his gratitude for the convenience he is now feeling.
"Today, natural gas has been installed in our house. It feels calmer and doesn't worry about gas anymore," he said.
PGN also emphasized the importance of safety in the use of natural gas and hoped customers would always pay attention to signs of leakage such as a pungent odor or an unnatural movement of gas meters.
If you find indications of a leak or something unnatural, the public can report it immediately to PGN.

With the continued development of the GasKita Program, PGN is committed to providing cleaner, safer, and efficient energy for the community, as well as supporting a sustainable national energy program.
