Minister Of Transportation Reveals Three Strategies For Managing Eid Transportation

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi revealed three strategies carried out in managing the homecoming and reverse transportation of Eid al-Fitr 2025/1446 Hijri so that it runs safely and smoothly.

"Transporteration management during the 2025 Eid Transport period is carried out with three strategies. First, the distribution, namely distributing the travel volume evenly in a time (temporal) and location (spatial) to avoid buildup," said the Minister of Transportation in a statement in Jakarta, Thursday.

Second, clustering or grouping the movement of passengers or vehicles based on routes, departure times, and destination areas.

Third, delaying or buffering, namely the implementation of the delay system by providing buffer zones before entering the ferry port area or buffer zone which has dock facilities.

The Ministry of Transportation in collaboration with Litbang Kompas has conducted a 2025 Homecoming Implementation Satisfaction Survey. The results of this survey show that most of the travelers, 90.9 percent, are satisfied with the government's performance in organizing the 2025 Eid Transport.

The aspects of public transportation that are assessed, facilities, infrastructure and transportation management get a satisfactory assessment.

The public gave a higher appreciation for the government's intervention in transportation management, with 95.2 percent of respondents claiming to be satisfied with the traffic engineering carried out by the government.

Dudy said the survey results would be used as material for evaluation and policy recommendations for the implementation of Eid transportation in the following years.

"This is a challenge for us and all stakeholders, for the high level of community satisfaction in the implementation of Eid 2025 transportation," said the Minister of Transportation.

He hopes to continue to improve services to the community in the implementation of Eid transportation in the following years.

The 2025 Eid Homecoming Implementation Satisfaction Survey was conducted face-to-face, involving 652 respondents aged 17-65 who traveled during the Eid al-Fitr 2025 holiday period. The survey was conducted in six provinces on the island of Java and North Sumatra Province, which is the center of movement for travelers during the Eid holiday.

The Ministry of Transportation recorded as many as 154.62 million movements of people during the Eid 2025 transportation period, or 54.89 percent of the total population of Indonesia.

The total number of public transport passengers is 27,627,070 passengers, with details of the train mode 8,301,274 passengers, air mode 5,698,887 passengers, sea mode 2,248,646 passengers, crossing mode 5,823,967 passengers and road transportation mode 5,554,296 passengers.

"The smooth transportation of Lebaran 2025 can be achieved thanks to the support and cooperation with ministries/agencies, local governments, TNI, Polri, stakeholders, and related transportation operators, as well as thanks to the support and compliance of the community in applicable policies and regulations," added the Minister of Transportation.
