JAKARTA - The construction of the Safari Park in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan, has now entered a further design stage. Head of the IKN Authority Basuki Hadimuljono revealed that the project design involved entrepreneurs and investors Boy Thohir.

"The Safari Park is currently in the design stage, this will also be consulted with the President. According to information we got from Mr. Boy Thohir," Basuki said in an online press conference, quoted Thursday, April 24.

Basuki explained that the land for the IKN Safari Park has been mapped in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP), right behind the Palace and near the glamping area. Of the three alternative locations proposed, the final choice falls on one area and currently the detailed design is being drawn up.

"The location of the land in KIPP, behind it, is near glamping. So it has been chosen," he said.

According to Basuki, his party will continue to monitor this design process and immediately follow up after receiving directions from President Prabowo Subianto.

To note, the IKN Authority has prepared 225 hectares of land that will be used as a location for Safari Park.

The land has been reviewed together with the Taman Safari Team to ensure its readiness and suitability.

Taman Safari Indonesia affirms its commitment to start building Safari Parks at IKN as an educational recreation area regarding the diversity of domestic animals.

The construction itself is targeted to start no later than the end of 2025.
