JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, explained that the decline in the Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) was caused by various factors, given the changing market movement every day.

Previously, the movement of the Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) was currently at the level of 6,086.08, down 2.75 percent at 11.25 WIB, Monday, March 24.

In addition, at 10.22 WIB, the JCI continued to weaken 4.45 percent or to the level of 5,979. Meanwhile, at the opening of trading, the JCI was at the level of 6,242.

Vice President Marketing, Strategy and Planning Kiwoom Sekuritas Oktavianus Audi assessed that the weakening of the JCI was due to several market sentiment and speculation, including the waiting for the release of the complete structure of the Danantara management.

"We see this encouraging market speculators that act negatively in the market, especially if they are filled with political domination," he told VOI, Monday, January 24.

Audi said that the weakening of the JCI was also due to ahead of the stock exchange holiday, namely that there was a sell-off that was driven by the potential for cash transfer, especially if traders with obligations would reduce their allocation with due date tomorrow in order to avoid prolonged interest.

In addition, he said that during the holiday on April 2, 2025, US President Donald Trump would start imposing tariffs to encourage market volatility.
