JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI total tickets for the Lebaran 2025 train have been sold for more than 2.4 million of the total capacity provided as much as 4.5 million.
KAI Vice President Public Relations Anne Purba said the ticket sales showed high public enthusiasm for train services.
"KAI provides a total capacity of up to 4,591,510 seats during the 2025 Eid Transport period. Until March 21, 2025 at 07.00 WIB, a total of 2,423,609 tickets have been sold," he said in an official statement, Friday, March 21.
Of this number, continued Anne, 2,327,067 tickets were long-distance trains, or the equivalent of 67.57 percent of the total available capacity.
Meanwhile, local train tickets that have been sold have reached 96,542 tickets, or about 8.41 percent of the capacity provided, Anne said.
Anne said local train ticket sales tend to increase near the day of departure, given the more spontaneous pattern of purchasing people for short-distance travel.
"With this trend, the sales figure of local trains will continue to grow as the peak of homecoming and backflow approaches," he said.
On the other hand, KAI also strengthens its commitment to travel safety by holding random urine tests for Railway Facilities Crews (ASP) in various work areas of the Operational Area and Regional Division on the islands of Java and Sumatra.
Anne stated that this health check is not only a routine ahead of Eid, but is also part of the periodic procedure applied by KAI to maintain the highest safety standards in every trip.
