Kemang Pratama Bridge Collapses Due To Floods, Director General Of Highways: While Handled By TNI

JAKARTA - The flood caused the bridge on Jalan Kemang Pratama, Bekasi City, West Java, to collapse. This condition resulted in the road access to the Kemang Pratama Housing from Pekayon and also Jati Asih being completely cut off.

Based on VOI's monitoring on Instagram @infobekasi.coo, Friday, March 7, the collapsed bridge in Bekasi City is quite severe. Based on data from the Bekasi City Highways and Water Resources Office, the collapsed road or bridge is 7 meters wide and has a depth of about 5 meters.

The collapsed bridge has all of its land fallen down and also asphalt and rocks supporting it from this bridge have also completely fallen down.

Under this bridge, it is directly the Bekasi River which is suspected to be the cause of the collapse of this bridge because previously or two days ago it had overflowed due to water sent from the Bogor area.

In this regard, the Director General of Highways of the Ministry of Public Works (PU) Roy Rizali Anwar confirmed that his staff had visited the location and in the near future there would be the Bailey Bridge installation.

"For emergency handling, yes, maybe Bailey Bridge will be prepared. The information will be handled by TNI friends," Roy told reporters at his office, Friday, March 7.

Roy added that the construction of the Bailey Bridge was possible using the Urgent Handling Fund and Emergency Response (PMTD) or Unexpected Expenditure Funds (BTT).

"If special handling and so on is needed, we will see what part of the financing is like. Is it possible to use PMTD funds or maybe BTT if in that area, yes," he said.

Meanwhile, said Roy, for the construction of the bridge permanently, his party will again conduct a review in the future. "Later, the permanent construction will try to be reviewed," he concluded.
