The Formation Of BUMN Food Holding Was Discussed In Jokowi's Ratas, What Was The Result?

JAKARTA - The formation of a food cluster state-owned enterprise (BUMN) holding was discussed in a limited meeting (ratas) between President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and his staff. The meeting was to accelerate the formation of the holding.

Deputy Minister of BUMN I Pahala N. Mansury, the establishment of the holding needs to be assessed regarding the potential for development, both organic and non-organic. As well as the role of holding as an off-taker of domestic food commodities.

Furthermore, he hopes that the establishment of this state-owned food holding company can truly increase food productivity and help national food security and sovereignty.

"What is his role as an off-taker of several food commodities, and it is necessary to fix the basic BUMN food cluster, such as business models, cash flow management, procurement processes, partnership processes and others as an effort to improve," he said in Jakarta, Friday, April 23.

Pahala is optimistic that the boat carrying the 9 BUMN food clusters must be successful with the support of a clear action plan, the right Key Performance Indicator (KPI), and a directed synergy between BUMN Food.

The Holding of BUMN Food consists of PT RNI, Berdikari, Pertani, Perikanan Nusantara (Perinus), PT Bhanda Ghara Reksa (BGR Logistics), Indonesian Trading Company (PPI), PT Garam, PT Perikanan Indonesia (Perindo), and Sang Hyang Seri.

"Holding BUMN Food is expected to improve the performance of its members which is expected to become a proud BUMN Food in the future," he explained.

Meanwhile, RNI President Director Arief Prasetyo Adi said that the progress of food holding has reached the Inter-Ministries Discussion (PAK) of the Merger.

"In the restructuring process, RNI has formed a Project Management Office (PMO) which is divided into 7 streams and is tasked with initiating a Charter Project to accelerate the development of BUMN Food, therefore support is needed from all Commissioners and Directors of BUMN Food Clusters to accelerate the development of BUMN Food," he said.
