PT Inecda Plantation Absorb 592 MW Green Electricity Owned By PLN

PT PLN (Persero) through the Riau Main Distribution Unit (UID) PLN and Riau Islands again distributed 592 units of Renewable Energy Ceritificate (REC) or the equivalent of 592 Megawatt hour (MWh) green electricity to PT Inecda Plantation, a palm oil industry company in Indragiri Hulu, Riau.

For information, REC is an innovation of PLN green products that guarantees the use of New Renewable Energy (EBT) in a transparent and internationally recognized manner.

Each REC certificate proves that the electricity used by customers comes from EBT or non-fossil generators, with APX Tradable Instrument for Global Renewables (TIGRs) tracking systems from the United States ensuring compliance with international standards.

"Through REC, customers can also participate in reducing emissions, converting from dirty energy to environmentally friendly energy. We are committed to providing clean energy to support the creation of green industry in Indonesia," explained General Manager of PLN UID Riau and Riau Islands, Tonny Bellamy, Tuesday, March 4.

Tonny added that REC is a PLN product that can be purchased by the public and companies that use electricity from renewable energy sources. Each unit of REC is equivalent to 1 MWh of green electricity.

"We are committed to being ready to meet all customer needs, including preparing electricity sourced from EBT. We are ready to support the collaboration of various parties to reduce world carbon emissions, including one of which is the Incda Plantation," said Tonny.

General Manager of PT Incda Plantation, Khamdi said, his party is committed to supporting the use of green energy to reduce carbon emissions.

"We hope that this collaboration with PLN can continue to exist so that it will have a good impact through steps that prioritize sustainable business principles and implement Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects to realize sustainable development and support the Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs)," said Khamdi.
