BI Officially Opens Its Service For Exchange Rupiah Money

JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) officially opened a rupiah currency exchange service at the moment of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr until March 27, 2025.

Meanwhile, Bank Indonesia prepared a distribution-worthy money (ULE) of IDR 180.9 trillion to meet the needs of the community during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr periods.

In addition to ULE, the public can take advantage of the development of digital payment transactions through mobile and internet banking, as well as QRIS for various payment needs.

Deputy Governor of BI, Doni P. Joewono said, BI always strives to improve the quality of the Semarak Rupiah Ramadan and Berkah Idulfitri (SERAMBI) program every year.

This year, Doni conveyed that the Rupiah currency exchange service optimizes the use of the Rupiah Exchange and Withdrawal application (PINTAR), including for access to exchange services at banking counters.

Therefore, Doni conveyed that the use of the PINTAR application is expected to increase service certainty and reduce queues/densities at exchange locations for convenience and convenience for the community.

"The use of the PINTAR application is also expected to increase efficiency with a more equitable and direct distribution to the public," he said in his statement, Monday, March 3.

Furthermore, Doni said that BI cooperates with banks to provide Rupiah currency exchange services throughout Indonesia.

In addition, Doni expressed his appreciation to banks, the Association of Rupiah Money Management Services Companies (PJPUR), as well as all Bank Indonesia's partners for their support and collaboration in the 2025 SERAMBI activities.

"This synergy is expected to continue to be closely established to ensure the distribution of money runs smoothly, on target, and in accordance with the needs of the community," he said.

Doni explained that the public can exchange Rupiah money in strategic locations such as houses of worship, places of religious activity, and public bank offices.

Menurutnya layanan penukaran uang Rupiah baik melalui kas keliling, penukaran terpadu, dan kantor bank umum, dilakukan melalui Aplikasi PINTAR terhitung mulai 3 Maret 2025 pukul 12.00 WIB dengan alamat https://pintar.bi.go.id.

"People can access the application to order according to the schedule and place they want," he explained.

Doni conveyed that Bank Indonesia invites the Indonesian people to love, be proud, and understand rupiah even more.

In addition, BI also invites to recognize the characteristics of the authenticity of Rupiah money through 3D, namely View, Diraba, Diterawang, and take good care of the Rupiah through 5J such as Don't fold it, Don't write it off, Don't squeeze it, Don't staple it, and don't wet it.

"Proud to Rupiah because Rupiah is not only a legal tender in national economic activities but is also a symbol of the nation's sovereignty," he said.

Meanwhile, Doni conveyed that Rupiah's understanding was shown through wise behavior in shopping as needed, shopping for domestic products to support national MSMEs, as well as saving and investing in order to increase sustainable economic growth.
