Ministry Erick Thohir Targets BUMN To Deposit IDR 413 Trillion Into State Treasury In 2021

JAKARTA - The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) said that state-owned corporations are still one of the sectors that are relied on as a source of government revenue.

Expert Staff for Finance and MSME Development at the Ministry of BUMN Loto Srinaita Ginting said that her party is targeting all government companies in 2021 to contribute IDR 413 trillion.

"A number of these revenues are in the form of dividends, taxes, and PNBP (Non-Tax State Revenue)", she said in a discussion on Women Driving the Economy in the Pandemic Period held virtually by Tempo, Friday, April 23.

Loto added that this projection decreased from the realization in 2020 for the same sector of IDR 566 trillion.

"Because in 2021 BUMN itself will experience the impact of the pandemic, and we estimate that this revenue will decrease slightly", she said.

According to Loto, the role of BUMN is actually very strategic in pandemic conditions, especially to accelerate national economic recovery.

He revealed that apart from being an extension of the government's hand in the field, BUMN could also become a foundation in collecting state revenue coffers.

"This BUMN is quite complete in contributing to the national economy, not only a part of distributing aid to the community and UMKM, but BUMN also participate in supporting the APBN (State Revenue and Expenditure Budget) by paying dividends, taxes, and PNBP (Non-Tax State Revenue)", she explained.

Based on information compiled by VOI, this year the Minister Erick Thohir is targeting all state companies to reap dividends of IDR 26.1 trillion. This figure is down from the initial projection which was set at IDR 65 trillion.

Meanwhile, from the fiscal side, the Ministry of Finance reports that the realization of tax revenue until March 2021 is IDR 228.1 trillion, or 18.6 percent of this year's ceiling of IDR 1,229.6 trillion.

Then the PNBM sector was recorded as having entered the state treasury of IDR 88.1 trillion, or 29.5 percent of the ceiling of IDR 298.2 trillion.

Overall, until the close of the first quarter of 2021, total state revenue including customs and excise instruments, as well as grants is IDR 378.8 trillion or 21.7 percent of the projection for 2021 of IDR 1.7436 trillion.
