Minister of Cooperatives (Menkop) Budi Arie Setiadi said that so far there have been 321 cooperatives that have been confirmed to be ready to support the successful implementation of the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program.
Budi said hundreds of cooperatives involved in the MBG program had previously been verified by the Ministry of Cooperatives (Kemenkop).
"Based on our data, there are 321 cooperatives that have been verified and have been institutionally and business ready (supporting MBG)," Budi Arie said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 25.
He explained that cooperatives are one of the central components in the success of the program initiated by President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
Furthermore, in the implementation of the MBG, cooperatives act as providers of raw materials, such as rice, vegetables, meat, eggs, fruit, and milk which will later be produced into food packages for students.
"So the cooperative continues to consolidate and collect data to cooperatives that are ready to supply raw materials for MBG," he said.
Therefore, Menkop Budi ensured that his party would continue to carry out verification in order to increase the number of cooperatives directly involved in the implementation of the MBG program.
"Verification is our job to ensure (the readiness of the cooperative). That's why there were 321 cooperatives that we recorded. We will continue to record it later," he said.

Budi added that every local government must pay more attention to the development of cooperatives in their respective regions.
