JAKARTA - Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said the national industry is ready to support the 1 million electric / induction stove conversion program initiated by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR).

"In the midst of the current pandemic situation, the domestic manufacturing industry sector continues to be encouraged to produce various products that are needed by the community. One of the industrial sectors that is ready to meet the needs of the community, for example is the producer of electric stoves," said the Minister of Industry in his statement received, Thursday, April 22.

This support was stated in the signing of the MoU to diversify LPG gas stoves into electric stoves. To support the 1 million electric stove program, the Ministry of Industry's Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transport Equipment and Electronics (ILMATE), Taufiek Bawazier, has confirmed the production capability of the domestic industry.

"Currently there are two domestic industries that have produced electric (induction) stoves, the first, PT Adyawinsa Electrical and Power. The product brand is Myamin, with a production capacity of 17,000 units per year for one production line and can be increased to eight production lines. "Then PT Maspion, with the Maspion brand, which has a capacity of 300,000 units per year," said Taufiek.

In addition, Taufik has also coordinated with PT Hartono Istana Teknologi (Polytron) which has stated its readiness to produce electric stoves.

"That way, we are optimistic that the domestic industry will be able to meet the production needs of one million electric stoves," he added.
