JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGEO) established a strategic partnership with Sinopec Star Co, Ltd. (Sinopec Star) to collaborate in the development and utilization of geothermal energy.
PGE President Director, Julfi Hadi explained, the cooperation agreement that has been signed by both parties is in the context of developing geothermal energy both directly and indirectly, as well as opportunities in the development of green hydrogen in Indonesia, China, and other potential global markets.
"Sinopec Star has an advantage in utilizing geothermal with medium and low temperatures for distraction heating and has developed hydrogen plants," Julfi said in a statement to the media, Wednesday, February 19.
Meanwhile, PGE, he said, has a long experience in the use of geothermal at high temperatures for electricity generation in Indonesia. The competitive advantages of both parties will be combined so that they can take the opportunity in every use of energy cascaling and also the development of beyond energy.
