Meet The Minister Of PANRB, Minister Of Transportation Bahas WFA Scheme Ahead Of Eid 2025

JAKARTA - Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi met with PANRB Minister Rini Widyantini. This meeting is to discuss the proposed work from anywhere (WFA) scheme or work anywhere ahead of the 2025 Eid holiday.

For your information, the Ministry of Transportation submitted a WFA proposal starting March 24, 2025, to anticipate traffic congestion during the Leberan 3025 homecoming period.

Dudy explained that the WFA proposal was based on the implementation of the Nyepi holiday which is adjacent to Eid al-Fitr, namely March 29 and 31.

"Departing from this, we propose WFA starting March 24. Our assumption is that if it is implemented, the travelers will travel from March 21 evening. So we have time to unravel the travelers during Eid," said Dudy in an official statement, Wednesday, February 19.

Dudy said anticipation needs to be done because in the implementation of Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 transportation, a number of people did not travel because they chose to do it at the moment of Eid.

However, to find out the potential for more precise community movements, continued Dudy, the Ministry of Transportation is currently conducting a thorough survey.

"We are conducting a survey so that we will be able to calculate more carefully how many passengers will go home during Lebaran. The Ministry of Transportation will calculate the movement to regulate transportation mode facilities that need to be prepared," he said.

Dudy also revealed other considerations why WFA needs to be done because the transition season is expected to continue during Eid.

Then at Merak Port, March to April it is still a transitional season. If it rains, high waves and ships cannot move. So the consideration is not just because of traffic jams. We anticipate things that are beyond our control. If the weather is not good, we have time to break up the travelers," said Dudy.

After the meeting with President Prabowo Subianto, Dudy said Prabowo had given instructions regarding the WFA discourse for employees. The President's instructions are forwarded for further discussion with the relevant ministries/institutions.

Since last January, Dudy has visited a number of ministries to coordinate regarding preparations for Eid 2025 transportation, including discussing WFA.

Several ministries visited by the Minister of Transportation were the Coordinating Ministry for Regional Infrastructure and Development, the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), the Ministry of Religion, the Ministry of Manpower, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Basic and Medium Education, to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Dudy emphasized that the Ministry of Transportation needs support from various parties to make Lebaran 2025 transportation a success. With this coordination across agencies, Dudy hopes that the community can travel back and forth to Lebaran safely, comfortably, and smoothly.

Meanwhile, MenPANRB Rini Widyantini said that his party welcomed the WFA proposal. He assessed that policies related to holidays, collective leave, and other things ahead of Eid did need to involve the Ministry of Transportation and the police because they had to calculate the movement of people.

"If it can be decomposed, that's okay. If the agency wants WFA, it's allowed, because there is a Presidential Regulation Number 21 of 2023 concerning Government Agencies Day and Working Hours. What percentage of WFA will we manage. Later we will make a circular. Every Eid we always make a circular for community services. There is a calculated percent, "said Minister Rini.
