JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) plans to build the Integrated Madrasah Mu'alimat Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Campus. This was discovered after the Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, visited the location of the campus development plan in Yogyakarta, Monday, February 17.

Dody said that although the Ministry of Public Works was affected by budget cuts, the education sector remained the government's top priority.

Thus, the construction of this campus is designed to improve the quality of women's education as part of efforts to create superior human resources towards Indonesia Gold 2045.

"In accordance with President Prabowo's Astacita, education is one of the main pillars. Increasing access to quality education for all children of the nation, including women, is our priority," said Dody as quoted from his written statement, Tuesday, February 18.

Dody said the Ministry of Public Works will continue to try to renovate and rehabilitate educational facilities and infrastructure in various regions.

"We are committed to improving educational facilities, including this project. The goal is to empower more women in Indonesia so that they can contribute more to the nation's development," he said.

According to Dody, education is the main foundation in achieving the big vision of Indonesia Gold 2045.

"Education is our biggest investment. How Indonesian sons and daughters, including women, get the best access to education. This is very important to realize Indonesia Gold 2045," said Dody.

Meanwhile, General Chairperson of Muhammadiyah Central Executive KH. Haedar Nashir appreciated the government's support for the development of the Mu'alimat Madrasah Integrated Campus. He said the project was a step to continue KH's vision. Ahmad Dahlan in educating the nation.

"The construction of this campus also aims to reduce the gap between Madrasah Mu'alimin and Madrasah Mu'alimat. If Mu'alimin already has a representative campus, now is the time for Mu'alimat to get equal facilities," he said.

The construction of the Mu'alimat Campus is expected to be a center for women's education which not only emphasizes the academic aspect, but also forms character and leadership. The campus was designed to support the potential of more than 2,000 female students.

Full support from the Ministry of Public Works is expected to accelerate the realization of educational infrastructure that supports the progress of women in Indonesia.
