APLI Ask Smart Consumers To Buy Products Directly At Direct Selling Companies

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Direct Selling Association (APLI) asks people to be smart in buying direct selling products. APLI asks people not to buy direct selling products at random stores, such as pharmacies, marketplaces and street vendors.

This responds to the existence of a seller of one of the products of a direct selling company who was dealing with the law and was sentenced to seven months in prison. Because, the seller is selling products not from the company or official channels that have been regulated by laws and regulations.

"All direct selling products cannot be purchased at random stores, be it pharmacies, marketplaces, or even street vendors. So you have to buy them directly from companies or partners," said APLI Secretary General Ina Rachman in a written statement, Thursday, April 21.

He emphasized that by buying direct selling products at registered companies or business partners, consumers can replace them if there are defective or inappropriate products. In addition, when purchasing products obtained through official channels, consumers will get post-purchase services such as assistance and others.

"Replacement of products by direct selling companies is up to 100 percent, that is if it is true buying directly from companies or partners," he said.

However, he said, if there are consumers who buy direct selling products outside the predetermined distribution channels, the company cannot compensate for defective products and so on.

"So what we expect is like that, help consumers buy directly to direct selling companies, either to companies or to official business partners. Never buy products through unofficial purchasing channels," he said.

He added, buying direct selling products not in companies or official business partners, not only violates the applicable laws (UU), but also harms the industry in general.
