JAKARTA - A number of private Public Fuel Filling Stations (SPBU) such as Shell Indonesia and BP-AKR experienced a shortage of fuel oil (BBM) stocks.
The scarcity of fuel stocks is caused by obstacles in procurement and distribution.
Responding to this, Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Yuliot Tanjung admitted that his party had given import approval for BP-AKR and Shell.
"They import fuel that is sold. From the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, they have given import approval for BP, Shell, and also other business actors," said Yuliot to the media crew at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Friday, January 31.
Regarding the obstacles faced, Yuliot confirmed that he would coordinate with the Head of the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) Erika Retnowati to find out the cause of this scarcity.
"So, I will check first on this problem. I will coordinate with the head of BPH Migas first," said Yuliot.
Previously, the President Director of PT Aneka Petroindo Raya, Vanda Laura, in her statement admitted that currently her party is experiencing limited fuel stock for some time to come.
"In connection with stock constraints, for the time being some gas station networks will not be able to serve the sale of fuel products completely," he told the media crew, Friday, January 31.
