JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia dismissed an issue that said there had been a shortage of 3 kg liquefied petroleum gas (elpiji) in Jakarta.
"Not really, I make sure not," Bahlil told the media crew in Jakarta, Thursday, January 30.
Bahlil appealed to the public to purchase LPG according to the needs so that the distribution of melon gas can be enjoyed by parties who are entitled.
He continued, scarcity would occur if a household could consume 10 LPG cylinders per month, but suddenly bought up to 30 or 40 tubes.
"Suddenly someone bought 30 tubes, so we will definitely limit it. That has other intentions. If you buy a lot, there is another purpose," continued Bahlil.
On the same occasion, Bahlil also appealed to the public to use LPG gas according to its designation. For business actors, he warned them to use non-subsidized LPG.
"As for industry, use industrial LPG. Don't use 3 kilograms of LPG, because 3 kilograms are government subsidies," Bahlil appealed.
Bahlil also asked the public to use this subsidy gas wisely. This is because the government has disbursed more than Rp80 trillion for 3 kg LPG subsidies.
