JAKARTA - The Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) plans to build a special house for members of the Indonesian Army.

The plan is for the preparation of this project to be carried out with the People's Housing Savings Management Agency, aka BP Tapera.

PKP Minister Maruarar Sirait or Ara said his party would start a construction project at the end of January.

"The plan is that there are around 5,500 units in five places, namely in Serang about 1,900 units, then in Bantul, Bekasi, Bogor and Brebes," said Ara in a written statement, Thursday, January 16.

Ara also asked BP Tapera to immediately prepare a quota for Housing Financing Liquidity Facilities (FLPP).

"For BP Tapera, please prepare the FLPP quota," he said.

Meanwhile, Kasad General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak responded positively to the plan of the Ministry of PKP and BP Tapera. He hopes that the construction of this special house can help members of the Indonesian Army who do not have a house so that they have decent housing.

The government is trying to overcome the problems of backlog and inadequate housing through the program of 3 million houses per year.

Presiden Prabowo Subianto menjanjikan program sejak masa kampanye Pilpres 2024.

Under the Ministry of PKP, the government will build one million housing units in urban areas and two million units in rural areas.

Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Nusron Wahid said that his party would use 77,297 hectares of abandoned land reserves plus 10,000 hectares of conversion proceeds for the program of 3 million houses.

"We think there is no problem with the availability of land for the 3 million house program," said Nusron in his official statement, Wednesday, January 8.
