Coordinating Minister Zulhas Is Furious That The Exchange Rate Of The Marine And Fisheries Sector Is Still Low

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan or Zulhas highlighted the low exchange rate of farmers (NTP) in the marine and fisheries sector (KP). The lowest NTP is experienced by fishermen sub-sectors.

Based on data presented by Zulhas, NTP in the marine and fisheries sector includes three sub-sectors, namely fisheries at 102.34, fishermen 102.03 and fish cultivators at 102.84.

"Now the horticultural rice plants have a value of 108-110. However, in the fisheries sector, Mas Trenggono is still below, (that is) 102," said Zulhas.

Zulhas deeply regrets that until October 2024, NTP in the marine and fisheries sector is still very low. This figure is quite lagging behind other sub-sectors.

It is known, NTP for food crop sub-sectors is at 110.86, horticulture at 108.57, people's plantation crops at 156.32 and livestock at 102.23.

"We can do well here, yes, the place. However, our fishermen, Sir (Trenggono), the exchange rate is still 102. So, those who should get the focus of our attention should actually be fishermen, because the exchange rate is 102, sir," he said.

He said that currently the sub-sector with the highest exchange rate is in the plantation sector. According to Zulhas, there needs to be even policies throughout the country, so that NTP in the marine and fisheries sector will also increase later.

"So, the people's plantation exchange rate is if we don't take care of the big ones. However, we have to take care of the people's plantations, sir. Well, this is why there needs to be a policy that unites all of these policies everywhere," said Zulhas.

"Well, now we are managing it in such a way that the movement can be fast, precise and efficient," he concluded.
